I am not a cyclist (in fact prior to scheduling this trip I had not ridden a bicycle in over a decade) and only
got roped in to joining as my friend needed a travel partner. But boy am I glad I joined this tour! For
starters, the cycling is doable even if you aren’t a regular cyclist but are in decent shape, and there’s an e-
bike option as well. This cycling tour gives you a great opportunity to experience smaller towns and
scenery that you otherwise might not visit. The tour is very well organized, with very good quality bikes
available to rent. The bike guides are great, and the support van does a great job of providing the group
with a constant supply of fluids and snacks while also opportunistically stopping to get great photos of
you. We were blessed to have great tour mates on our trip, but getting to know them was also facilitated
by having a nice manageable group size. I was really impressed with this tour. Each day was planned
perfectly – our daily itineraries were essentially full from breakfast through dinner, but we never felt
rushed; we enough time eat, stop at several spots throughout the day, and use our hotel onsens after our
rides and before dinner. I really enjoyed this trip and will definitely look into joining another tour with
Bicycle Tours Japan by Ride Experience.
