Cape Oma (Aomori pref.)
Cape Oma is the northernmost point of the Honshu Island, Japan’s main island. On clear days, the city of Hakodate in Hokkaido can be seen across the ocean. Here you see a stone monument inscribed with words meaning “This is the northernmost point of Honshu” and a monument of a huge tuna, for which the place is known. An array of fishing boats in the port inspires imagination about fishermen who live in and with the sea.
